I know it’s the 4th day of February, but as of last night, I’m finally caught up with January! Thought I’d share some pictures.
31 days of temperature crochet
Wound up having to switch the medium blue colors – from Pagoda to Ocean, because Michaels wasn’t carrying any more Pagoda. Boo. It’s fairly close in color — just a little less green.
Current length: 14 inches.
So I decided to combine my love of data visualization and crochet to create a blanket tracking the daily temperature for Boston, MA.
The colors are all staple Caron Simply Soft yarn colors, some of which have yet to actually be chosen…
22° and below
23° – 32°
33° – 43°
44° – 53°: Light Blue (TBD)
54° – 66°: Light Green (TBD)
67° – 77°: Green (TBD)
78° – 88°: Yellow-Orange (TBD)
89° and above: Red (TBD)
All my weather data comes the day after from Time and Date.com. The day’s weather is broken up into four sets of high and low (12AM, 6AM, 12PM, 6PM) which I average for the day’s temperature.
The pattern I’ve chosen is a larger version of the Feather and Fan Baby Blanket by Alexis Middleton. Instead of the written 119 starting FSC, I’ve done 153 FSC for a larger blanket.
